Dental Hygienists

Malpractice insurance written for dental hygienists.

The practice's policy protects the practice. An individual hygiene malpractice policy protects you — your license, your defense, and your record — including the days you work somewhere else.
Overview

What this coverage does

Most dental hygienists are named on the employing practice's professional liability policy. That coverage is real, but it is shared: limits are consumed by the practice's other claims, the practice controls the defense, and the protection ends the day the job does. Temp shifts, second offices, community clinics, and volunteer days often fall outside it entirely.

An individual policy is inexpensive relative to what it protects. It provides your own limits and your own defense counsel, and it travels with you between employers so there is no gap when you change practices.

Hygiene exposure is specific: periodontal charting and scaling injuries, missed pathology or failure to refer, radiographs and their interpretation, local anesthesia administration where the scope allows it, instrument and ultrasonic injuries, and infection-control allegations. A complaint filed with the state dental board is often the first event — and board defense is a separate cost from a lawsuit.

We write hygiene coverage through the same dental carriers that back our practice and dentist programs, so a practice can place the dentists, the associates, and the hygiene team without juggling unrelated markets.
